Questions offices ask

What is the difference between electric and air-driven dental handpieces?

Air-driven units spin a turbine with compressed air. Electrics use a motor and gears, often a 1:5. They fail in different parts and the typical repair ranges differ.

Which is better, electric or air-driven, for dentists?

For this shop: repair the one you already own. Platform choice is a dealer conversation. Repair cost is typically lower on air turbines.

What are electric dental handpiece benefits on the bench?

Constant torque for some preps. When they fail, parts and labor typically run higher than a turbine. Estimate first.

Do you repair both?

Yes. KaVo, NSK, Midwest, Bien-Air, Star, and W&H air and electric lines.
